JANET
It’s so much darker when a light goes out
than it would have been if
it had never shone.
—JOHN STEINBECK
----
Janet.
Janet had a passionate zest for life and adventure. Outdone only by the deep love for and an enormous interest in people, especially her many friends and family, who spanned all generations. Her faith was strong and steadfast.
Janet was a great, theatrical storyteller, always having one, if not two or three, stories at hand. She loved a good story, especially those with adventure and a bit of 'naughtiness' involved. Then, with a wink or bashful smile, she might say
My, oh my
I say, I say
Well, well...
There we have it.
Janty, from a sweet little girl to a pretty teenager to an outgoing and vivacious young woman, who never met her perfect match...or at least not of the marital kind. However, perfection was everywhere when talking about shoes, clothing, jewelry, or handbags. Janty loved a good deal, bright lipstick, and was always beautifully glamorous.
Having a true experience of Janet meant you might find yourself at the end of her bark, joining with her in uproarious laughter or gleaning her wisdom (sometimes all these things within one visit!)
We will miss her enormously.
Lucky were we.
FAVOURITE 'JANTY-ISMS'
My, my, I say, I say...
A shroud doesn't have pockets.
Never the victim.
There we are.
